I learned the mechanics of meditation a few years ago – mantra selection, physical positioning, selection of a proper space, etc. But, while I had the mechanics nailed – I never quite worked meditation into any sort of a regimen. Over the course of the last few days – and after meeting with a Hindu guru, a Sikh warrior, a Tibetan Buddhist monk and a Krishna swami – I’m seeing thing differently. Each in their own way articulated a value proposition for daily meditation.
Meditation is not merely a stress-reliever. It’s way more than that – it’s an important key to busting through barriers to what I want and unlocking my personal potential. If I can exercise my body every day in order to optimize my physical well-being, then I can certainly exercise my soul every day in order to optimize my emotional and cognitive well-being through greater consciousness!
