An Atheist Learns from Spiritual Teachers

January 4th, 2010 by sacredtraveller

It has been a blessing for me as an atheist to be listening and learning from so many spiritual teachers. The variety has been amazing—Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Sufi, and some I can not categorize into a main religious group.

Throughout the experiences I have sorted through what I heard for what made sense to me, and I receive many gems of wisdom that transcended particular religious beliefs. These include:

  1. Living in harmony with the planet is essential
  2. To be happy, serve and live according to higher principles
  3. What we each believe is a choice
  4. Truth is a key principle for all.

Well, this is my first visit to your blog! We are a group of volunteers and starting a new initiative in a community in the same niche. Your blog provided us valuable information to work on. You have done a marvellous job!

  3. This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It?s the old what goes around comes around routine. Did you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??
