One of the reasons I go on Pilgrimage is to create a vision for the upcoming year. Spiritual sites and revered spiritual teachers help evoke qualities that I want to emulate. I have been very moved to learn about the Hindu God Krishna while in Northern India this year. Krishna has millions of devotes throughout India and is considered one of the main gods in the Hindu pantheon of spirituality. His statue is the one you may recognize as the handsome man playing the flute. He is associated with 2 main aspects–as a lover he had many consorts and wives. He was known for his ability to fully love each woman and delight in all the things in his life. As a warrior, he acted quickly seeking justice and had no tolerance for situations where he felt wronged. Aspects of lover and warrior will be a good model for me in the New Year.
What can Krishna teach me about being more of a lover? My goals are to design assignments and practices that help me to be more open-hearted, more loving, and delightful to be around.
I have many battles to confront in my work life next year. Developing practices that will help me lead with directness, fierce caring, strong results, and a transformed work culture are some of my strongest desires. I will take the lessons from Krishna’s life and use them to infuse and inspire my own life. With a couple of statues of Krishna in my home and office, steeping in music composed for his praise, and studying his life, I will extend the Pilgrimage into my daily life. This will be my Krishna New Year.

Dear Judith and Bob,
Last night at the pilgrimage reunion was amazing. I have been “losing” the strength I came home with and last night did in fact extend the special voyage and I am grateful for this.
I am excited for YOM as my life right (Wright) now is such a blank slate I am frightened and need some help.
Thank you again,
Karen
